I plan on adding a reactor to run some GFO.
It looks like a lot of people are using the IM reactor in chamber 2 or 4. It seems like it would be difficult to adjust the flow to get tumble because you can't see it. I'm leaning towards a BRS external reactor because I'm tired of working on gimicky gadgets shoved in the back of the tank. On the other hand, one of the appeals of the IM 40 in the first place was no chance of leaks by having anything external to the tank. Am I overthinking this, should I just get the IM for GFO? Thanks |

Been away for quite a while....tank has been doing well. Just letting it do its thing. But I get like this. I get the bug and leave it alone for a few months. Thinking this weekend of doing a major cleaning and adding some stuff. I'll post some pics once I have the glass all sparkling and maybe some new additions.

New IM Products
Has anyone seen the new Items coming for our tanks?
There is a AUQA Shield UV Sterilizer/Clarifier For those the use the APS stands like me, there is a shelf coming in a few months. Can't wait for this one, and according to IM it can be installed without disassemble one's tank. |

I am interested in upgrading my 28g to an IM50 and have yet to find anyone else who has owned one.

When setting up a refugium how did you decide which column to set it up in? What are the advantages of one over the other?

Yesterday was a day of trial and mental testing. Added a cooler to protect the tank this summer. One massive leak on my first test run. All good for 24 hours fingers crossed it stays connected. — >>))))'> — >>))))'>. #innovativemarine 40 gallon #radion XR15w G4 Pro #eheim heater #vortechmp10 #ghostskimmer #minimax #reefaquarium #reeftank #reef #corals #coralreef #saltwateraquarium #ecotechmarine #cooler #siccesyncra3y Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

OajiJames; Make sure that cabinet is well ventilated so chiller dosen't over work. Mesh screen in front work?
Where did you place chiller pump? how did you dial in flow rate? |

I do and I really like it a lot! It's an impressive looking tank & stand.
I just got it set up with sand and rock... Water quality just hit perfect so about a week ago I added two emerald crabs, two porcelain crabs, a blood shrimp, hermits & several nassarius snails. I'm doing a tank merge from the two other tanks I have - the IM 40, and a generic 20 that I had to set up in an emergency and never took down...smh.. I just pulled two rose bta's from the 40 and plan on taking two clowns from the 20 to their new home. Not sure what other fish I'll put in the 80 yet. Currently looking at sand sifting gobies, but haven't decided on what two I want. Also still have to decide on lights in the next few days. I have a G3 pro Radion on the 40. Love the light. I've gotten very good growth from it, just do not like the price tag and on this tank I'll probably need two. My lfs is recommending AI hydra's, but I need to do some comparison between those and the radion's so I know I'm not missing features that I really love and would greatly miss if I went with a different lighting system. So yeah, I'm sure there must be others in our world wide community that own a IM 80. I'll have to look into how to create a place for us to all link up on here.
