I am not new to reef tanks however I am courious how the shows on TV build a tank fill it with water and then add fish right away ? How are they able to do this without cycling the tank ?

TV magic...
What they don't show is how they throw the fish in for the "final shoot" then remove them or have local fish stores there with prime/water changes.. or that they do put bottles/bottles of bacteria into the tanks,etc... whatever it takes..

I don't know anything about such shows and how they operate, personally.
