APEX with DC8 or EB8

I apologize if this has been covered numerous times. I have an APEX and its awesome, but I have the ability to purchase a DC8 for cheap. What do I loose if I use one instead of purchasing a brand new EB8?

- Fallback mode
- Current (amperage) monitoring
- the respect of all other Apex owners

(just kidding 'bout that last one, of course )

A reasonably-priced DC8 is a good addition IMO.

No. You can use a Kill-A-Watt or similar gizmo though. Google it.

Yeah, maybe I will wait then. Fallback is nice and to date I have not needed to use it, so I can wait. Rightnow I have my chiller and Aquariumplants regulator on their own power outlet...

You mean you don't like the challenge of dealing with those upside-down DIPs?
