awesome tank! how are the fishing reacting to having the extra depth? do they venture down there often?

Update Pictures
Hello everyone, just a little update as requested. I've added more live rock and a few reef safe fish. Some of my rock came with some goodies. Sorry I don't know the names. I am aware to be careful of creatures that sometime hitch hike. I do trust the local guy I'm getting my rock from. I've also picked up some BRS reactors. One for Bio Pellets and the other has both carbon and GFO.
So far so good as far as the water. Hope you enjoy the pics. 20141110_1.jpg 20141110_2.jpg 20141110_3.jpg 20141001_4.jpg |

Your tank is awesome!
If you don't mind me asking, how thick is the acrylic? I'm thinking of building one also. I wasn't sure if the "dropoff" would be an issue with the added pressure. thanks, Mark |

Please tell me you are putting an anemone right at the drop off for your clown fish and naming them Marlin and Coral.

Nice build....I am thinking about building a drop off tank but I want to put in a "wall" to separate it so I can keep a reef and also non reef safe fish in the same tank.....

The acrylic is 7/16 thick. We made sure the stand would support the weight evenly by measuring hundreds of times and plenty of test fits. Thank you everyone for the comments. The drop off isn't fun to clean! I did just add the new Maxspect Gyre Riptide generator. This thing is so cool and is providing movement everywhere! I got the smaller one XF130. Weiser |

Great looking tank, I have the current orbit led also, I link it especially for the price. Grows softies and sps well. Never tried lps but they would need to be up higher I assume.

So do you get any bowing from the acrylic? Been thinking about building a drop off with close to the same dimensions, but have been leaning towards 3/4". Cost would be more than double though.
