Leather coral question
Any chance the macro algae rubbing on the leather toadstool would aggravate it enough to cause it to release some nasty chemicals that would cause my zoa's (orange on the right of the picture) to close up? The water parameters are perfect but the zoa's haven't opened in several days and I'm trying to figure out why.
Also, what's that macro algae called? thanks, Dan

that is Fern Caulerpa (google tells me Caulerpa Sertularioides but there are probably a few that look similar)
I doubt this is your problem but there is no way to be certain. you could clip that piece. After a while you will probably have more than you want anyway, that is known to be fairly invasive but on the plus side that is one of the prettiest of the caulerpa. |

Thanks for the feedback.
That might be a little hermit crab.
