Any word if Kessil is going to update lights/app so there aren't just 9 blues but would be like radion. I realize u can add green and reds to them.

That would defeat the entire purpose of the Kessil logic that makes these lights so successful at growing reefs.

I wanted it more to have smooth transition between the blues.

Just got them but when u go from one blue to another does it "ramp" or does it change at said time? Say at 1pm I have white and at 4 have pm have ocean blue, is it a hard switch or a transition?

I never notice any abrupt change. How far separated are your colors? To me they transition.

Just had a little time to play with them yesterday and now out of town but have read others say theres no transition. There's transition in intensity. Hopefully someone can confirm

I program in the transition by adding the "in between" colors.

This way it's not going from White to blue all at once. Add those point in and you won't notice the change.

Also, just ran the program play back and there certainly seems to be a transition in color. Even when the program runs quickly I don't notice abrupt changes. Then again, like I said, I'm not going from all white to all blue all at once.

Im not either, only going maybe a total of 4 steps. Was under impression there's a hard notch.

Why not program those 4 steps of transition into your program?

I have but if it's a hard switch it's defiently noticeable. Was used to 360s on apex with full control

In my opinion if you want to grow some nice coral , I'd stay/peak in the bluer side of town 400nm-500nm most high end coral vendors (wwc,Two guys coral, battlecoral)tend to peak in This spectrum. Thus the proven track record and success of ati t5 blue plus, 20k halide radiums, reef bright XHO,even actinic t5..if you want program your lights to be visually appealing (spectrum) while your home/after work (1-2 hours and then go back to bluer spectrum here's some good reference to that (skip to 5:40) https://youtu.be/iNS-clay-boaeZUI

I always use the blue spectrum, was just wondering how it transitions from one to another.

I can confirm that there is no ramp, it just changes. But it's really quite a subtle diffference between each. But definitely noticeable if you happen to be looking at your tank when it changes.

I guess I don't see it. Or just not as sensitive to it.

Just got a AP700 for my reefer 250. Haven't gotten it mounted yet so I have a question I'm hoping someone can help me with. Currently I'm using 2 a160we's on the tank at a peak of 85%. If the 700 is mounted about the same height above the water like I plan to do, what % would you start at for the new light? I was thinking starting around 40% max but not sure if that will be too much or not. Anyone got an idea of what % on the 700 would compare to 85% on the 160's?

You need a par meter.

Start at 25% and let your corals get used to the light. Then bump it up till they are super happy
