Blue Tang with faded area on head?
While cleaning my tank today, I noticed our blue Tang has a faded white area on the head and extends to one of the gills.
This must have been a pretty recent development as I've never noticed this before today. I don't see any white spots anywhere, it just looks like a greyish faded shape on the head and one side, where is normally all black. Could this be a ICH, or something else? Huh, I just looked at the fish this morning and the spot is basically gone. I did kick up quite a bit of sand dust during the cleaning, and I was wondering if maybe swimming through it stained the skin?
It looked more like that area had turned sort of translucent though. Weird. Sent from my Pixel 3a XL using Tapatalk |

Maybe your strong blues are just highlighting normal changes in colour.
They can display their feeling in small colour changes and these changes are enhanced in the blue spectrum. I have a YT and a blue, both show weaker colouration in some areas from time to time. The yellow shows patches of white visible under the blues, but, when I turn off the blues, he’s back to solid yellow. |
