The stand looks great! Hope mine turns out looking as nice.

I'm sure the joists are sufficient in terms of load but I worry more about bouncing when walking near the tank, the floor sagging and drywall cracking etc.. I plan on using these:
Thank you for sharing this. I'll need to do the exact same w/ my build.

No tank yet? Be sure to post some pictures of it and their custom glass holes overflow when you get it. I'm thinking about getting one of those too.

Nice cabinet!

Thanks guys, no tank yet, should hopefully be built soon. It wont have the custom glass holes overflow with the integrated return, I had bought a regular one from a member on here before I ordered the tank so will be using that.

Are you coming south to pick up the tank or having Felix deliver it? If you do come south drop by the FMAS forum here on RC and look us up, we could do a quick hop around some of the local shops before you head back north, a little southern hospitality.

Wish I could go down to pick it up, unfortunately I gotta pay the freight. I really appreciate the offer though

Its actually the 3000 external model, I went back and forth between the 5000 and 3000, after speaking with Mike at Reef Specialty we decided the 3000 would be perfect for my needs.

Nice build! Wish I had skill on wood working like you. Canopy and stand came out nice and your skimmer looks like a killer!

Looks like a great project. I just had my first and just set up a new system, hang in there bro, and good luck. After reading the list of SPS you have, and only seeing the one picture of the current tank, has left me wanting to see more up close pics of your prize pieces. Take your time but it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks HP, I will try to get some recent shots of some of the corals. Many of them are just small frags and I have also had a STN issue a few weeks ago that I lost a few including my favorite green millie colony.

Can't wait to see how the tank looks. Felix said my display tank is built, but he's working on the bracing and my sump. Still no ship date, but probably around the end of the month.

I'll be watching for pics...

Thank you very much, my boy is my world and has really changed my life. Hoping to get some progress done this week, should be tiling the floor around the stand and supporting the joists. Will update with pics along the way.

Definitely following this build

Let me know how you like that skimmer once everything is all set up! I am really considering getting one ... either that or an ATB ...

Very nice collection of SPS you will be transferring over as well! I need to find myself a piece of the Tubbs Pink Jade as I think about it. lol.

Hey, did your tank ship out this week as planned?

How long are the ship times?

Was scheduled to ship out on Tuesday but spoke to Felix and he felt the silicone wasn't as dry as he would like, will be going out Friday. Judging from the last bill of lading he sent me for Tuesday, it looks like it will take approximately 8 days for freight from Miami to NY.
