+2 on the ToTM nomination.

I was beginning to think I'd seen everything in this hobby.

Congrats on thinking out of the box. That is truly a unique and stunning tank.

WOW, those are some really nice corals! Where did you get them from? I love those yellow zoanthids (at least I think they are zoanthids lol) and id like to add some to my tank.

They're sun corals. Completely different than zoas.

love the originality how long does it take you to feed all those colonies every day? Seems like quite the process. Well worth it though

Beautiful. How much sulfur are you running in the denitrator ? What is the flow rate?

Yes, I have tried it. The carals seem to enjoy the seafood mix but this was causing some mojor water quality issues. I used to blend the food and I think this was creating problems. If I was to cut the seafood mix with a knife this would work better, but I could not imagine doing it every nigh

The food does cost a bit in a long run. I think I spend more on the fish food than on mine

I have quite a few blue sponges which are doing very well. They are however capable of choking other corals to death, when they decide to take over the space....

There are also a few different sponges like red tree sponge and yellow ball type, but those are not growing. I have some of them for almost a year without any growth.

Daily maintenance takes me about an hour. I think this has became a routine now and it does not bother me that much.

This is actually quite a fun watching the corals catching they prey.

I would also like to thank everyone for the comments. It would look a bit silly if I was to reply to all comments individually

The tank was not really planned as sun coral exclusively. I have 4 tanks at home and this allowed me to create very different set ups. I do like sps, mushrooms, zoas and rics, so there is a tank dedicated to sps only, mushrooms only and this one which originally was set up as nps reef.

This however was not a very easy tank to keep succesfully. It was fed 24/4 with variety of FM foods and I was still not very happy with it. The only corlas in this tank I was happy with were suns, so with time I was adding more of them and at some point I did not bother with dendronepthea and other nps corals.
Sun corals are very easy to keep when well fed. The only challenge here is to keep water quality high.

Many thanks

Can you please explain how you go about feeding these corals? I find target feeding my sun coral nearly impossible as it closes up when it feels water squirt on it.

I can't seem to get enough food into my tank for them to be well fed.

The tank is amazing.

The tank is amazing.
When feeding daily, the corals will open without any cyclopeeze or similar stimulats and will stay open quite a lot.

When feeding, all circulating pumps and wave box is switched off, so the water is very still. I squirt mixed food around 10cm above each colony, so the food flows down very gently. I do not try to feed every head as this seems unnecessary. I feed when the lights are switched off, so fish are not disturbing the food much...

Thanks

I am sorry, I have missed your post. It Deltec APF 851. I used to run 2 skimmers, but this seemed unnecessary.

Thanks

I am not really sure how much sulfur there is as it came together with reactor. I am using Korralin denitrator which I think comes in one size. I do like this filter as it uses recirculating pump which makes the unit work more efficient. I use controlable dosing pump and it is set up on 3.6l/h.

Thank you and everyone for nice comments
