Just wanted to post a small update on my tank. I was sitting watching TV one night and I heard a loud crack come from my tank. Upon inspection, I found this:
image upload no limit In this picture the center brace was still attached. Since this picture was taken, it had totally detached and was hanging. You could see a roughly 5/8" bow to the front of the glass and the door to my canopy was no longer closing flush. Because the tank was not on a purchased aquarium stand, but a custom stand they would not honor the warranty. I could have purchased a new top frame, but I had been wanting a lower, wider tank. I kept the same volume and just went with different dimensions. I ended up with another 120 gallon (48x24x24). I am really liking this tank and the new dimensions. My scaping turned out so, so. I don't know if I would really call it a "bonsai" reef anymore, but here are a few FTS shots of another new beginning. Thanks for looking: post a picture adult image image sharing sites

Upgraded my phone to the Galaxy Note 4 and was playing around with some tank photos. The camera seems to capture the white balance really well. Here are some shots I thought were pretty neat.

Looking great! I'm on the fence over Apple Iphone or Samsung Galaxy...Iphones are pretty useless for our tank photos as they have NO white balance control capability...

Just wanted to give a quick little update on a chalice I saved from the chopping block. It was scheduled to be chopped up and sold as many frags, but it was just too nice and I couldn't let it happen. Not sure what kind it is, but it's nice nonetheless, it has roughly 100eyes/mouths:

Tank looks sweet man. That Chalice looks pretty cool; sometimes its just not worth cutting up a decent sized colony...there is just something special about a full grown colony of any coral (unless its really ugly).

Wow! Really nice tank!
I'm late to this one. Just read the whole thread. Just plain stupid how many times you've been set back by tank issues.. Went through a tank leak, myself... No fun! Still running the 52s? Looks like coral colors are a bit darker.. Have you gotten your nitrates off the floor?

For sure I have had my ups and downs. Mostly of my own doing from switching my lighting so much, among the other issues. Low nutrients have still been a problem for me, but getting better. I cut back on my water changes and have been adding a couple of the zeo products to supplement the SPS. Seems to be doing the trick, but can always be better. My current lighting is the Reefbrite Halide/led hybrid. This fixture works better for "me" because I can't constantly tinker with it. Those damn leds are just so controllable I can't resist messing with them all the time at the expense of my coral. My most recent problem was alkalinity being too high resulting in burnt tips due to my low nutrients. Everything has since recovered. I find if I keep alk under 8.5 things are happy.

I've been updating in my local forum, but not here so much, so I thought I would post a few FTS, just to keep this thread updated. Over the last few months things have been pretty much moving along steadily with no severe issues. I had a small battle with some vermetid snails and moved a couple corals here and there, but otherwise things have been progressing slow and steady. Here are a few pics of how the tank looks currently.
Thanks for looking: upload an image [u how to take screenshotsrl=http://postimage.org/]upload a gif[/url] hosting image capture screen
