I assume the exposed hardware under the belly will be covered up right?

That's a very good question Nick. In all the pictures I've seen (and that's not many LOL) none show the underside of the unit except the ones in the blog which I assume is partially disassembled for presentation purposes. Surely it's more "covered" than the blog shows.

When I said covered up, I mean it's covered up with non-transparent sheet of metal and not the glass. I want to think this but looking at the LED clusters, they look to be sitting at the same level as all the hardware components. If there's a metal sheet cover then I would expect the LED cluster to be popped up a little bit like the fans.
Also, in this pictures, they look to be cover with a piece of glass cover. Just not very appealing looking when you can see the guts.

To clarify the reason why they have shown the lamps like this - so everyone can clearly see "for the show and marketing" what is inside, demonstrating the build quality, of course this does not mean this is what you will get in production, the lamps will be enclosed.

Quote from RB "we’ve finally gotten a good hard, close-up look under the hood"

Under the hood doesn't mean the hood can't be clear. That's good to know. Looking forward for this light to be out.

I may have missed it before but will they offering a slave model without the built in controller for those of us already after forking out for a profilux controller

I know the price point is a little high for my taste and the fact that they built in an LCD and a controller into the light is overkill for someone who has a profilux. If you have 6 -8 hanging over a large tank having 6-8 LCDs displays isn't very sleek from what I can tell from the pics (it might be better in person though).

Where are the pics of the spread of the unit, I'm interested if it really gives the 30" as advertised.

30" is what we (aqua digital) hope based on our reading of the PAR table not an official specification from GHL, so just to avoid confusion this is not "as advertised".

The lamp does not launch for 2-3 months yet so many of your questions including this will be answered shortly.

If you wish to ask direct questions to GHL like some above you really will need to ask them on the official thread here

http://forum.aquariumcomputer.com/sh...5264#post35264

I do urge everyone who has a specific question to use that link to ask. The reason is most information is released publically, we the distributors get no real information before you do.
