Not really just not as desirable. The juv False personifer they had a few days ago is not often seen. Only the 3rd one in the past year offered through DD

brotulids are usually shy fish, and not many people ever see them in their tank. at all. from what i have heard, they just hide in a hole and no one ever sees them. a shame, because they are a beautiful fish.

A little off topic... how are the fish from livequaria? Being affiliated with petco I was unsure of the quality. For the last 2 fish for my tank i was thinking to just get them at one shot from there as my lfs might not have them both at the same time...

Every fish in my 180DT came from LA DD. Every fish I ever purchased elsewhere had a relativly short life spans. I have no LFS within 120 miles of me that carries marine.

LA DD is pretty much the best place to get fish. they captive breed as many fish as they can, so less are coming from the ocean. they have pretty much the best shipping i have ever seen. i just got a blenny from them , and it is doing great. usually the fish you get from them are NOT sick because they quarantine them for a few weeks, but it is a good idea to use a QT tank just in case.

I have gotten fish with ich from them twice over the years, but nothing else. Yes QT their fish even if it is the first fish going in your tank. I assume every fish has ich and treat with TTM.

Main reason we don't want to offer QT services for Coral Imports.

Really no way to guarantee the fish will come 100% clean.

I don't trust anyone but myself to QT fish.

At one time DD would offer fish that were difficult to get feeding as QTed feeding xyz since a particular date. They have stopped doing that in the last year or so.

About 3-4 weeks ago I purchased a Regal form another dealer. In 9 days it was dead. It never ate prepped foods and I think it died of velvet. Two weeks ago today, I purchased a regal from DD. In three days it was eating PE mysis and in 9 days it was eating pellets and flakes. It started TTM prophylactically on day 4 and still eats. I do believe the fish on DD are cheri picked. It was featured on their FB page and on the DD title page. Here is a photo.

That is a big plus, especially with finicky eaters. Can always offer live foods, but sometimes it's hard to find live food in many areas.

I would start looking into coral imports as well, peter has responded to my emails quickly and nicely, its been two days and DD still hasn't emailed me back....... We'll see... Ill probably end up ordering at dd sometime, but right now Peter is looking like #1!

Sorry to derail. I like the bluethroat triggers they put up every so often..

Downright beautiful! What size did you get him at? The ones on DD are a little too big for my liking

Today's pair of masked swallowtail is pretty awesome. Man I miss my pair that I sold 2 weeks ago for half that price. They were nipping on my SPS and LPS.

They are jumpers and need a tight fitting lid. Also a sand bottom for burrowing. generally they are not aggressive towards other fish, but will fight with other tilefish.

Not a fish but...
Got this little guy (or girl?) on DD
Beautiful coloration, especially considering the colors they usually are.
