what am I missing ?

Hello, I have a 5 month old 60 gallon sps tank that is running very well, Today there is a strong fishy smell coming from the chaeto refugium and DSB sump area, that whole deal is remote from the display and about 30 gallons total. The carbon is in there and was changed last week, all params are as good as it gets: Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, phos all 0ppm other params are equal to seawater. The only oddity is the small welk 1" that was in the sump for a few months is MIA. So, any ideas of the source of my lovely low-tide smelling living room ?

A surface film can cause this problem, IME. Some paper towels floated on the water surface for a second or two can help reduce the problem, if that's the cause. Getting some rippling on the surface can prevent the buildup.
