how waterproof is the swabbie? can i clean it in running water?

as the title states, how wet can I get the swabbie? if I let my skimmer cup fill up, the swabbie itself gets pretty gross. Can I run the whole thing under the sink or do I need to just use a sponge on it?

Yes, it can be sprayed down in the sink. I'd avoid submerging it completely for prolonged periods though.
