Hey fellow reefers, fairly new reefer, new to the forum, read a couple pages of the thread but not all, sorry if these stores have already been mentioned.

- LAX Aquarium - great prices for fish, coral kinda pricey. stock is not high end, but they get new fish/coral pretty often. WARNING: if you do NOT QT, do NOT buy fish from here.

UltraGem (Burbank) - great coral and prices, fish selection not so much.

Valencia Pet (uh, Valencia.) - my LFS, but haven't bought too much from them. (Yes, I've been driving to LAX a lot....). Kinda pricey, but noticed they've dropped prices a lot recently. They supposedly ran a fish wholesale company before, for what its worth.

Hey guys, what LFS in SoCal nearer to the Rancho Cucamonga area carries some more high end SPS. Have yet to find a LFS that carries good SPS.

I stopped by Treasures of the Sea in Riverside today; hadn't been there in over a year or more. Quite a few SPS frags, I was impressed. There hasn't been a store in the IE to have decent SPS in a long time. He has a couple large frag tanks stuffed with all types of corals.

Checked out UltraGem in Burbank today. Decent selection of beginner fish and designer Clowns. Looked healthy. Good prices on CuC. Good amount of colored up SPS and LPS corals both colonies and frags. Everything was under blue LED though, so hard to tell what they look like under full spectrum.
They have some intense bubble gum Digi I've never seen so bright and colorful. But at $75 for a 1/2 in. single branch I couldn't do it.

I just found out that reef lounge USA is jimmy of fish collection. Love that guy and his store is great. I saw a beautiful Sohal that someone needs to rescue there. I’d do it but I’m afraid my 6’ 135 is just too small

I happened to be out there a while back and drove by. It's a house and no one answered the phone during listed business hours.

Man most fish stores in my area (Riverside) and around are dirty and expensive. The tanks look filthy and they have skyrocketing nitrates. Cyano is a common problem in some stores. I bought three frags from the store in Huntington Beach a couple months ago and exactly those frags are the ones that look the unhealthiest.

Well, in your good water, they should come back quickly.

My water is not exactly good. I still have 20ppm nitrates. I'm dosing vodka at the moment. I think it'll work out. The frags have multiplied and colored up but they do not look as nice as other frags from quality vendors. One once said to me corals are like people, some look bad some look good. Pick a frag from a healthy looking colony and you'll be fine. I didn't do that because I was impulse buying. Three frags for 30 bucks. I couldn't resist.

ontop of the collection vivid has a 15 day saltwater guarantee for their fishes.
although not the cheapest occasional coupons can get you good deals
