Where to get a large acrylic tank made?
I know about ATM. I am looking for some others.
It will be about 16' long, 4' deep and 3' tall. ATM will use steel instead of eurobracing. Will anybody else do this? |

Interesting size....... What are they quoting you with steel? Access on something that size is important, and an open top look is always cool on a giant tank.

After enough locals have been burned and disappointed by GC on custom stuff, I would rather leave the hobby than get anything of theirs. I mean that too.

This is not the first time I have come across the company name ATM. What does it stand for and where are they out of? I would like to look them up.

THere are lots of companies. One of the best is Envisions run by Acrylics here on RC http://www.envisionacrylics.com Inovative Aquarium Products (IAP) Tricon, and a few others that I can't think of at the moment.

I bought a custom tank from ATM last summer.
The tank (72x24x30) and built in overflow are just about perfect. The plumbing underneath the cabinet left alot to be desired. I have changed most of it to make it much more maintenance friendly and increase water flow (and I have a few more "upgrade projects" planned). The skimmer and UV filter they installed were crap, completely undersized for a 250 gallon tank. The canopy and stand is just OK at best. Their cabinet maker needs to go back to painting/staining 101. I don't really want to flame them, but their customer service skills are lacking. I dealt with one of the co-owners directly. Many times I felt he could care less if I spent my money with them or not, until I threatened to cancel the order. If you are just looking for a tank, then I would recommend them. If you are looking for a complete system (like we bought) then I would take your business elsewhere. Good Luck! |
