Probably not valid any more. That was their Labor Day sale.

When your fixture gonna be older than 1 year (after warranty) you can do this mod yourself very easy swapping wires...
I did that with my Fauna Marin Starphire fixture 10x54w.

***The New Lights Have Landed***

Today was rather exciting for me as I was awaiting the arrival of the new lights. The overall packaging was excellent and very impressive.

Crazy!! It's own wooden crate

An extra box at the top...

Extremely well packed... no damage at all

It is an articulating TV mount. I had my Radion hung from it. The ATI fixture is too heavy. Just haven't pulled it down yet.

It would probably work on the ATI if it was hung from the ceiling. I'm moving the tank in a month, and will use a hanging kit from the ceiling in the living room as I have a slanted ceiling.

Wonder what we need to do to convince ATI to develop either an apex interface or a stand alone web interface....

Really really want this feature!

It will be close. Maybe if you hang it up about 13" or so.

Might have some shading. The LEDs have a really nice spread though. Cover a 24x24 really well at only 4" above the water.

I'll hang mine about 8-10"

I think that is the normal height.

Maybe I should ask all my questions all at once

Cant seem to find how wide the 24" fixture is, and how much it weighs, and I presume the T5 ballasts are inside the fixture like all the others.

Fixture is about 23.75" wide and weighs about 15-20lbs.

All ballasts are in the controller box.

Got a question for you guys. I have a 30" cube with an 8 bulb ATI I am considering getting the new 24" 8 bulb with leds to add some shimmer and for the moonlight viewing. Maybe a dumb question but is the one strip of leds down the center of the fixture enough for a 30" deep tank to add that pop front to back throughout or would I be better off adding some leds on the front and back of the one I have? Thanks!

It'll fill the tank. I have mine sitting on the rim right now and I get some spotlighting, but it still lights the whole tank. Once I raise it up, it'll look better and the spotlight goes away.

What Bulb config would you recommed for a 4 bulb unit

At present im running B+ P+ LED C+ B+

LED's are running at B+AB

Looks ok but not sure if im utilising the light properly?

Also on a 18inch deep tank with the lights at 10Inch above the water line would u say T5's 100% and Leds at 60% to much?

A few quick photos with the new lights up

ATI Hybrid 8 x 80W + 4 x 75W Dimmable

I love the controllability of these lights!!

The width of the lights are great plus the clip that hold the perspex up. No more sagging.

More info on my thread

I got my 8x80 hybrid yesterday. It is an in believable light. Having a little trouble understanding the programming, but getting better.. I cannot believe how bright this fixture is. I will post pics of it here later and in by 180 build thread..

http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2273977

Check out my thread. I think this build only deserves the best. The ATI is incredible.

Yes you are right about the software, before I got my 8x54 hybrid I used to have vertex illumina... To be honest vertex soft is way better than ATI. I've heard that dimmable sunpower has that option for bulbs changing, after you'll replace the bulbs for new ones and press "something" unit not gonna dimm the bulbs for 80 hours. (It's highly recommend to fun these at 100% for first 80 hours to increase bulb life and light quality) do our units has this option as well? Is this even true about the sunpower?

Hi Andrew

I think you're the lucky one, I don't have that clip. I checked with christygirl and he doesn't have it either. It looks unattractive when the lights are on. I got about 1½" sag.

I am sure that our light or the first product that was sent to the USA is an old batch. Beyond that I don't see any reason why we don't have that clip.

Hope that ATI can supply that clip to us so that we can install it.
