Looking for camera advice - not smartphone!

Hello, all,

I enjoy the fabulous pictures posted here often! Thanks for sharing them.

I have older DSLR's- All Nikon, and good glass to go with them. I have a D70 for my wife, a D2H and D2Hs for myself.

They are still superb cameras for landscape, close up, and high-speed burst photography. But... they are noisy and dated.

My wife has advanced MS and I'm looking for a camera that she can easily use - the D70 and 24-120 f.\5.6 is too heavy for her now, and I'd like to get her something that can take video and excellent photos and still be lightweight. Prefer Nikon but am flexible.

I want a new DSLR and am considering a used D3s. Thoughts? I have f.\1.4-2.8 lenses including macros and telephotos. A good selection of ED lenses.

I've nothing against Canon, just already have the glass.

Please toss me your thoughts/advice!

Best,

Kev

My wife uses one of these. It's a good camera for a point and shoot. I use a D300. The 3s is a bit up there. The 7000 series isn't bad.

The D3s is a large, heavy body. I recommend the d7000 or d7100

You might also want to look at mirrorless options. With an adapter you can probably still use your glass.
