Help ID this...

It’s been in my tank for a while now, but it has recently grown noticeably and in different spots...
Is this in any way harmful to any of my tank’s inhabitants?

Harmless sponge growth. You can pull it out if you don't like the look. Personally I find sponge growth interesting.
