Epoxide resin is the correct word! The plumber should be glued together so no water can entrance the pipes

Hi,

Beautiful tank. Can you let me know what kind of lighting you are using on this tank?

TIA

So...you want the Lionfish to actually prey on the Assessor? Is the Assessor that much of a poo head or is it doing something else? Just wondering because I had a couple of Assessors on my fish list if I am thinking of the same thing. The basslet type? Yellow?

Hi, Assessor flavissimus. Nice fish. Love that guys. But I have to quarantine the tank again because of ich. So all fish have to gone out of the water for a few weeks. So I test different trap sizes and get out the water of the tank with no success because the Assessor go into small caves there I can't find them. *hi*

Ah, I got it now. And that is the fish that I was looking at. I just didn't want a holy terror on my hands which is why I was asking. I made a mistake years ago and bought I 6 line wrasse. Great fish, family loved it, but boy was it a mean little fella.

Assessor flavissimus is very cute and friendly fish. Assessor is very special next to other fish because mostly swimming back down in caves or under rocks. You have to look twice to see this.

If you want to make the assessors go away, put in a small octopus.

When the assessors are sashimi, then put a couple of empty beer bottles on a string in the bottom of the tank with a piece of shrimp or crab and you can get the octopus out.

Or just leave the tank uncovered and the octopus will find it's way out.

Then return the octopus to the store, or set up a tank-- they make great pets.

Hello Dave

Thank you for this interesting advise. So I am able to have an octopus for a time. What do you think blue ring octopus or something else? Can I go ahead with lionfish and octopus or I have to remove the fish before?

I would remove the Lionfish. The Octopus is an amazing hunter. The blue ring are beautiful but they are so dangerous and I haven't known anyone privately to have good success with them.

Sadly the smaller octopuses have a short lifespan. Just a few years. But they are very entertaining. They will learn to recognize you when you come to the tank. They like the be pet and played with once they know you.

I actually learned about the Octopus trick from David Saxby many many years ago. He used them in his bins that he cured his liverock in. With the Octopus in the bins he didn't worry about any crabs or mantis shrimp ending up in his display tanks.

No success with Assessor

But a few new fish in quarantine

100 Luzonichthys wantai
2 Liopropoma carmabi juvenile

Colour of corals come back slowly after a few problems. Pictures are bad. One coral is extremely yellow and pictures show mostly green.

New Dastaco works fantastic the last few months. Old one goes back to producer to repair.
Anampses lennardi and Xanthichthys corelineatus are well since a few months. Fantastic fish's.
