its up high towards the lights

param
ph 8.1-8.3
nitrite/amonia-0
nitrate-8
calcium= 500
salinity is 1.026

also my lighting is T-5 HO 156 watts with tin foil to help it reflect (temporary until reflectors come) tank is only 38 gallon

It will take a while for it to fully open, normally within a day if you don't have it in heavy water movement.

How did you acclimate it?

Did you get it from a LFS? and if so, did they tell you how to acclimate it?

The water it came out of may not be the same as yours. Example, salinity, pH or other chemistry. You should also acclimate your animals slowly also acclimate to your lighting. Quarantine is always recommended prior to placing in display tank.

What kind of lighting do you have and what kind of lighting did the supplier have?

I see your ca is 500, what is your alk?

Alk i am not certain but my test stips say 180-250 roughly

t-5 156 watt individual reflect as of now

Corals and clam I read SHOULD NOT BE ACCLIMATE BY DRIP its causes more harm then good. Temp is all that is required because i have about 10 acros and temp acclimate and all are fine.

Temperature acclimatation is enough, I do this for years with no trouble and all my clams and corals doing fine.

Normally, the clan will open to it's full size within the day. If she don't, take a look at the flow (maybe she got too much flow). Have an eye too on pyrams snails...

can you post a pic of the clam. I always drip my clams while acclimating them. You need to even out the params slowly so you don't shock them.
