its moving along slowly hopefully will be picking up here soon. The tank build turned into a whole basement remodel haha. Im just wrapping up the lighting and paint. I finally got the T-Track ordered should be here in the next couple days for my lights. Once the light system is in i can bring the tank in. Everytime i say the tank will be in this week it always gets pushed back

so will see haha

Cool. It looks good, I was just wondering because I'm planning out a 36" setup.

Tank is doing pretty well. It has a touch of cyno and I lost an anemone. But for the most part, everything seems to have settled and I am seeing coral growth.

The equipment has proven to be very low maintenance and working very well.

Before I moved all the rock from my 180, it was a mess full of hair algae. Not a trace of it now! I highly recommend an Acid bath for dry rock.

Yes they are. We have some specialized glass blades for our wetsaws but still a PIA. Sure looks nice on your bar though!

Moving and figure it is a good excuse for an upgrade. 300DD is definitely a size I am considering. Have a 150g peninsula now and want to do a peninsula again. How difficult was it to remove the overflows and get all the silicone off? Any trick or tips you can share?

Removing the overflows were no problem at all. Just used a razor blade.

The big issue I had was the film the silicone left on the glass. Its almost liked it is etched in the glass. I did everything possible to remove it, razor blade, legal chemicals and one or 2 band chemicals and it wouldn't touch it. I googled it and found that there is a chemical in Europe that will remove the film but its not legal in the US

I got my tank used and it is 3 or 4 years old. A new tank may not have this issue since the silicone hasn't been on it for years.

I can still see the lines even with water in it, but its only the front comer of the tank. People wont notice it but I know they are there.

Update

The tank is just about 10 months old and I had all the issues a new tank goes through. Just recently things have finally settled in. Had a good bout with HA that finally resolved with GFO and changing the locations of my 2 MP 60's and a MP 40. Flow was key

As far as my equipment selections, most equipment worked perfectly. But there has been a few changes.

The Good

1.The Bubble King 200 has been nothing short of perfect. Very happy with the skimmer.

2. The Acid Bath I gave the all the Dry rock. Highly recommend it. I did have a HA problem but it was only on the existing live rock and it was to be expected for a new tanks. Nothing on the rock that got the acid bath

3. Apex! the best purchase ever! I have automated everything I can.
modules Added
Salinity
PH
ORP
WMX for the Vortex

4. Kessil lights. Love these lights! I had a 350's fan get loud and they sent me free of charge a 360w! great customer service!

Equipment replaced

1. Bubble Magus doser. One of the pumps froze on and emptied a bottle of Part 2. The did fix it under warranty but it took over a month. I ended up replacing it with a Apex DOS. Super accurate and very trouble free. great purchase!

2. BRS Dual GFO / Carbon reactors. Not very good and clogs easily. Easy to change media, but really not very good. I just picked up 2 GEO reactors that I will run GFO and Carbon in.

3. Gl*******s overflow. I wish I went bigger, even though it is rated for 1500 GPH, it can't handle it and it can clog.

Im still not sure if my Reef Octo Bio reactor is really worth having. Its running, but I can't tell if its doing much

This winter I plan on having a custom sump built. Something more compartmentalized. I am interested in trying Miracle Mud or adding a fuge.
