how to get a very young tang to eat nori
hi all so I have a sailfin tang.. about the same size as a vegi clip. still has all its juvi markings
Ive got it eatting lifeline, emerald entree, spiralina flake and mysis.... but I cant get it to eat romaine, green algea, or red algea. I assume it just doesent understand any suggestions on getting it to try the algea? Ive tried the vegi clip, and tieing it to rock rubble... thanks for any suggestions!! maggie

nope. tried that. the food first, then the algea.. thinking it would get that they are both foods

Have you tried feeding it one thing only and just leave it in there? When it gets hungry it should eat.
I know that the veggie clip is handy and you'll likely continue using it in the future, I'd just use the clip and only the clip. My tang goes nuts if I just jiggle his clip; to him it's like ringing the dinner bell. That becomes the ritual. I quickly stopped using the suction cup and just hang the clip with fishing line. It's good exercise and cool to watch him 'thrash' to bite off a chunk! Your tan will figure it out. |

My tangs took to it immediately. Don't know if there is any trick to make them take to it. Maybe don't feed the tang for a couple of days then try.

ok. I started to try that. but theres a fake rock cave in the qt, and it started trying to eat the fake rock. Ill try it tho.
