Is a Harris HP702-015-346-D. It's linked in the pacsun thread. It came with a damaged guage, so I might get a different regulator, but we'll see. It only cost $40 after a partial refund, so it was a good deal.

Need some advice on setting up the reg. This is what I'm using:
Dual Stage Regulator
I get pressure at both stages when connecting it to the co2 tank. Should I expect gas to come out the tube? It doesn't and I'm guessing the solenoid is closed. If that's the case, how does the solenoid and needle valve work? I'm going to look at the solenoid in a bit to see if I missed a button or something to turn it on. When I plug it in the light on the power adapter is red.

Once I know I get gas flowing I'll be setting up my new PacSun reactor. Stoked about this.

Plug in solenoid and turn the needle valve counter clockwise. It may take as many as 20 turns to get air flow. It's a very precise valve.

That was it, I just needed to open up the needle valve a lot more. Thanks!

Might want to check the instructions on the pacsun. They supply the solenoid. And it seems they want the needle valve BEFORE the solenoid.

Does anyone use a flow meter instead of a needle valve?

How low is too low for psi? I found a dual stage regulator that is between 0-2.5 psi outlet.

What is a typical range in milliliters per minute of CO2 dosing in a calcium reactor? I'm looking at flow meters instead of just a metering valve and they all have limited usable flow ranges.

That's too low. I run mine at 4 psi.

But PacSun's requirements may be different.

Don't you love how they can't give you a direct answer!?!

Thanks. Yeah, not having run a calcium reactor before, there are a lot of questions that are difficult to get an exact answer on.

Your questions are valid. It's just that they can't give you an exact answer.

So this thread peaked my interest. I have a Victor HPT500 (brass) and a Hoke 1345G1Y metering valve. Since the Victor is brass do I need to use all brass components or is stainless OK. Any advice is appreciated.

Has anyone used an in line filter, such as the Swagelok Tee-Type (SS-4TF), after the regulator and before the Solenoid to help prevent leakage due to small particles preventing full shut-off of the valve? If so, what size filter element is recommended?

Just got a new metering valve to try out since my Hoke seems to be a pita to keep consistent. I've tried higher pressure, lower pressure and nothing stays consistent at all day to day.. I've been relying on my pH controller and I don't want that anymore..

So question is ;

Got a Parker from another member ABOVE post =) ( 4Z (A) - NML-V-SS-K) but it has tube to tube Fitting on IT .. Do I just use an 1/8" npt from the Burkett to a 1/4" o.d.tube Fitting male stem and tighten it down?

What part number or name of part did anyone else in this situation use? I could rig it up to just accept the tube Fitting pretty easily but I'd rather have it attached to regulator honestly..

I tried searching the thread but RC sucks lately and I'm having issues using any search functions at all site wide.

Thanks..

I have to say if anyone wants to source a built unit Alanle is incredible to work with. I bought a unit from him last September and for various reasons only just got to fire it up and test. The solenoid power supply must have been damaged in shipping so I text him. I got an immediate response and he sent pics to walk me through troubleshooting.

I found the wire that was damaged and repaired it. I need to run a couple more tests but initial show that the fix worked. Alanle was still firing texts for me to send it back to him so he could once over it showing he goes above and beyond for his customers.

So if any of you wish to purchase a beautiful prebuilt unit hit up alanle....

Is the best way to check if a regulator is 2 stage by the extra bulk on the back for the 2nd regulator? I see a lot of regulators sold on ebay listed as 2 stage (not 2 gauge) and they don't appear to be 2 stage.
For example, this one

That looks to be single stage. Many eBay sellers are not familiar with what they are selling. They think because it has 2 gauges, it is 2 stage.
