I believe you have to subscribe to their service to share you photos with 3rd party sites

You're screwed.
Photobucket literally broke the internet. So much good information across the web is now useless.
Get a better hosting service like Flickr or Google.
Unfortunately that means re-uploading to that service and then reposting image links here. And its probably too late to edit your posts.

~original

Reef Central "could" write a simple script to run through the database and append "~original" to the links of all photobucket images.. Not sure if they just don't want to or don't want any potential legal ramifications,etc..

But if you want to see the picture this is what I do..
(I'm using Chrome Browser)
Right click on the image.. Select "Inspect" then edit the img tag html to append ~original to it..

This sounded so simple, my first thought when I read your post was "It should be easy to make a chrome extension to do that, right?". Then I went to the Play store, and my ReefCentral experience has just become 1000x better!

well.. it all works fine when you do the "inspect" steps that I wrote above on any post with blocked images.. It lets me see and copy the valid images..
It just doesn't seem to work well/consistently when I try to copy the links to show that example..

That trick allowed me to view/copy/attach all the missing images from this post
http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh...2531708&page=2
and I use it on plenty of posts here where the images have been blocked to allow them to be seen again...

yeah it works just fine..
give me a link and I'll show you the lost pictures

I also modify the code of this site using the "stylish" extension to fix those posts (that you see on a computer not on tapatalk) where photos people are gigantic and you need to scroll to the left,etc.. to see all of it.. I change it automatically so they just fit to my browser and aren't overly huge..

I am working on this when I have time. Sometimes the original works, sometimes it works, every once and awhile it doesn't.

Whatever you guys are doing, will it work on other forums too?
I'm on a jeep forum where pics are REALLLLLLLY helpful in step by step DIY threads.
This fiasco has been a major bummer.

I don't know. Only staff can do it now and it's not really a we thing. For now I'm working on some of the long winded pic intense threads in the DIY forum. I'm editing each pic so very time consuming. I plan on living a bit longer though.

Well if anyone comes up with a script or forum hack to automate it, let me know! lol
Stoopid photobucket! I alway thought it was the worst, most cumbersome un-user friendly hosting site out there, but now I hope they go bankrupt and fall off the face of the earth.

If I wasn't clear earlier, this chrome extension I found fixes all photobucket images: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...fegnfnflicjjgj

Why aren't you just running a simple script on the database to fix them all in one shot? Doing it manually is silly..
Surely someone who works as a mod or runs this site knows how to do it..
I'd happily write it if needed..

And after this thread I looked for a similar extension for firefox. Found one that works great!

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...-embedded-fix/

Don't think there is anything of the sorts for IE or M$'s new browser Edge.

And if you are using those browsers you should switch anyways

Darn it, doesn't seem to be working for me.
I cleared my chrome image cache too.
