New Horses Came Home Today

i picked up my pair of ORA Reidis today from my LFS. i am extremely pleased with them, i think they look great and they ate both live brine and frozen mysis in the store before i brought them home. these pics were taken minutes after going in the tank.

The male

and Female

yup, they will get their first feeding in their new home today. they ate right before they left the store and i wanted to give them a good 24 hours to get used to their new surroundings before i give them food. the pics are deceiving because they r taken so close up, they look thinner than they r. They r pretty tiny overall as u can tell by the size comparison between the tip of the thermometer and the female horse in bottom two pics. they will get mysis twice today and we'll c how that goes. if there is any problems with that i have some enriched brine as a backup for now, but i doubt there will be any problems.

Just curious has anyone had success getting their horses to eat blood or black worms?? just thought that it would be an interesting change up in their diet that might help to diversify it a little.

seahorse supplier

You wrote that your seahorses came from LFS. Who or what is that? I'm interested in purchasing 2 additional sh. I'm not sure about Seahorse Source and Ocean Rider is very expensive. I'm in Houston, TX.

i'm in NJ so theres a good distance between us, however any LFS should be able to order them. They r from ORA. Your lfs should be able to contact ORA and place an order. They don't do private sales so you'll have to go through a retailer.

Just curious as to why not sure about seahorse source. They have a great reputation on several boards.

I had a horrible experience with Ocean rider myself and will never do business with them myself, but some others have seemed happy.

Nice ponies . I got some of the same here in California. Do you have enough yellow in your tank? The LFS told me that they'll change their color to match their surroundings, and sure enough my female when she grew isn't so yellow anymore. Trying to put other types of coral and things to see if I can get her yellow again.

tcoral, they have lost a good amount of their color, the male has more color than the female, but they r still really cool non the less. i'm in the process of trying to pick some bright yellow artificial corals to put in with them to try and get their color back.
