Zimmy's First 30 Gallon Build

Welcome to Zimmy's First 30 Gallon Build!

Thanks for coming along for the ride! A little background, I am a college student finally graduating, and moving back home to pay off loans/find a job. In my apartment I had a 30 gallon freshwater set up for the past year, and would like to try my luck with a FOWLR system!

Please, please, please understand that I am quite a rookie at salt water and any opinions will help the process!

Specs for this tank:
Aquaclear 70 filter
Aquieon 8,000K Light
150W Heater

To Do:
1"-1.5" Live Sand
30lb's Live Rock

Proposed Fish List:
1x Azure Damsel
2x Clownfish (any ideas on type?)
1xGoby (also any ideas on type?)

If you see some potential issues with the set up please let me know, as I said before, I am VERY new to saltwater and would like to do this right the first time!

Attached are some pictures of disassembling the tank in my apartment.

HI, am also pretty new , I have been with my tank for about 9 months, try to do as much research as you can that's what I did , plan everything out on paper and plan ahead think ahead so that you won't spend money upgrading later because ones you get in your going to want more believe me

Research, research and research! You might want to drill it and put a sump on it(just an option) That will take out all the hangings and stuff of your display. Either way is fine though. Looks good so far

Did you ever medicate sick fish when it was a freshwater setup? If so, copper tends to the silicone and can leach back into the water and will have an effect on invertebrates, if you ever plan to keep shrimp or crabs.

Most FOWLR setups quickly become reef tanks so brace yourself!

More updates!

My tank is starting to look interesting:

Added 50 lbs of Live Rock, and 2 false perculas clownfish!

Also found a T5 Lighting system, any ideas on how I should mount it? I live in an apartment and don't want to hang it from the ceiling.

I hope you had the tank cycled before you added in the fish
