Getting too much light

So I have what will one day become a propagation system in the garage. The garage door faces the east, so when I wake up I just open the garage door. The problem is that Acros are melting because there are getting way too much light; to the tune of a PAR of 900(in the water) at 3:30pm.

What are some common ways to reduce light?
