new 220 gal build
I'm getting ready to swap out my 135 gal and replace it with a 220 gal. I'm interested in doing a floating reef or cave effect most of the way across the tank.probably about 4"-6" off the bottom. i have been searching for build ideas. leaning towards using heavy duty plastic or fiberglass grate to support the rock. Egg crate isn't going to support #100+ lb. of rock without lots of legs. The key is as few support legs as possible.Whatever i have to do to get it done, zip tie, glue, silicon or concrete. i want the grate to disappear. any pictures and ideas would be appreciated

Check this tank out. He did a cantilevered reef that turned out really well. I linked to page 25, which shows the bones of the reef well.
