Wrasses

I have two tanks hooked up to the same sump. My display tank has very few of the little buggers, and has a (melanurus) wrasse. Funny, I never see him eat them but will often see them falling to the ground. He also has been seen with bristle worms and the little brittle stars in his mouth. My frag tank, without the wrasse is virtually overrun with the little mfers. They don't bother the frags however. Will get a few Harlequins for the frag tank. There are not many little stars in the larger tank, only see a few large ones.
BTW the melanurus wrasse is beautiful and very active, last one I had swam into the exhaust when I did a water change SIGH, but the replacement acts the same and grows fast.

Asterinas are eating all the coraline from the left side of my tank.

On the right side - still untouched - I have a small Zoas colony, and I don't want to let them to cross the tank...

I started to hand-picking them, and so far, 80 and counting. I'm quite frustrated with that, because it take so long to cover the rock escape with coraline and now it's all bleached. The tank is looking awful.

I'm concerned with the Harlequim shrimp, after it eats all the asterinas. How to feed? I don't want to let it starve to death...

Sell/trade the shrimp or feed it a chocolate chip starfish occasionally

Sorry, but how do I actually feed?

Buy a starfish and let he work on it?

Harlequin just arrived yesterday. This night I checked out and hundreds of asterinas on the glass! It's amazing how they sense the presence of their predator.

Now a question: should I remove these with a net or let as food to the shrimp?

The one I got is quite small, and I have no idea about their appetite!

I just scrape mine off the glass. I have a small harlequin in a 225g and it is enough to keep my asterina population down.

It is amazing how the starfish know though

Let the shrimp deal with them; you dont want it to starve if you remove too many.
