You can certainly run it as intended, but ime excessive gas builds up using the peristaltic pump vs a cheap feed pump for some reason. I’m guessing it’s because the feed pump runs full bore and is then restricted by the effluent out valve. Just a guess on my part.

I might not be far behind you. With the 2 kids, the business, and training I just have zero spare time.

Yeah i hear ya! after a while, complacency and fatigue takes over, and the luxury of the hobby turns more into a chore. I'm finding the biocube 29 to be more of a joy for myself, its less money, full of sps frags, and out of the way. I saved 110$ on my pge bill last month, and that was with the 180 gallon tank only being down for 2 weeks. Perhaps in the future a 50 lagoon but for now, making my home nicer and getting this wedding out of the way in October is what's more important to me. Going to pull out the laminate floors in the front room where the tank was, the ugly white tile in the kitchen, and replace it all with with you're favorite..... TILE lol. Then I'll work my way to the backyard and give that a total revamp with some concrete slabs to keep the dogs from getting so much mud in the house. Busy busy busy schedule ahead.

Yeah I’m considering taking mine down as well. Just got a new travel trailer and want to spend more time away from the house hunting and camping. Hard to sustain a sps tank in a garage when your not home.

A tomini tang. He’s getting along just fine with my other tangs and eating great. No complaints.
