The back is normal, but the sides is not. How is the pump oriented? It can be installed in all 4 positions. Do you have the air closed at all? Is the flow deflector installed on the bottom and are you using a bubble trap sponge?

Hi rvitko thanks for the reply. The pump was facing the bubble trap but I switched it on 3 sides and it's still foaming and now alot more. I've closed and opened the air. Still foaming. The flow deflector is installed an with the sponge.

The bubbles would be the least in the stock configuration, pump facing the output deflector. Does the pump happen to have a rectangular hole on the bottom, roughly 1/4" wide and 1.5" long? There was a cap in that hole that said Tunze, the cap might have fallen off.
