Biofuel/microbacter/neozeo
Hello all. I have a 12 gallon and was curious if anyone uses the biofuel/ microbacter and neozeo . I’m curious mainly because I do not have a protein skimmer on my Nano. I want to incorporate this system for my tank to reduce nutrients but not sure I can without a slimmer. I’ve also read everywhere that Nano skimmers are crap. I was wondering what everyone here thought. Or how people with Nano tanks made an ULN tank. Thanks!

You should post in the nano forum as well, but we can try to help here. What's in your tank, and what are the nutrient levels like? What's being fed into the tank?

Do you mean Nano reef. Com forums? I didn’t see a Nano spit on this site. Right now I just have lps and montipora but I eventually want acropora in the tank. No fish right now so I don’t feed because I’m trying to get my nitrates down they fluctuate between 10-40. I am currently using Purigen and I use microbacter but I want to create ULN so I can have an acro heavy tank. I’ve been reading a lot on zeovit system but seems difficult to run on a tank this small. I also eventually want some fish in there (gobies and such)

On such a small tank water changes alone are more than sufficient to keep parameters where they need to be..
Those bacteria in a bottle products are rarely magic and quite often do little or no good at all..

I suspect that water changes will be fine, at least until you add fish. I wouldn't worry about the setup yet. It's a very small tank, but a small goby should be okay in it.

I used MB7 and Biofuel with fair results. It work at nutrient reduction for sure. Biofuel is just an overpriced carbon source use vodka, vinegar, sugar or bio pellets its cheaper.
