6105 Shaft Disappeared
Roger,
I have an older 6105 that was working fine then stopped. Opened it up and found shaft was gone... Any idea how this could happen? Looked in tank, ng. Can I order a shaft? Also, Is there a way to replace the circuitry(inside rectangular box) location where power and connectors meet? The pin and power connectors are quite loose. I would have to spice it into wire from powerhead thanks |

Looks like I will need to replace whole drive unit.
Can I use the newer design if I'm not sure when pump was made? https://www.shop-meeresaquaristik.de...0::11089.html? |

I have seen people use the much older drive unit you have in the link, but it will be considerably more noisy, the newer pumps lack the seat for the rubber bushing on the bottom and the long shaft that spanned motor to cover was always louder but with nothing to isolate it from the motor it will be pretty loud. Generally the shaft is stuck inside the drive unit and needs to be driven out, if you cannot see light through the hole in the middle of the drive unit, this is likely where it is. if you can seat the shaft firmly the motor can be saved, otherwise the best bet is a new motor block 6105.100.

I am unable to view the images. Is it possible you have a older one that should have the drive unit you attached a link to? They had the fixed shaft starting Nov 2011. As far as the power connection, in general you can adjust the tension on the power contact by spreading the power pin in the socket end.
