Pro Bio S and -NP Pro Question

Hello everyone,

I have a 50 gallon cube mixed reef system running ULNS using a large skimmer (Simplicity 240). I am using AquaForest Probiotic Reef Salt, Pro Bio S, and -NP Pro.

My question is, how often should I be dosing Pro Bio S? -NP Pro instructions say to dose daily, however I am not exactly sure how to properly dose Pro Bio S.

Current parameters:

Calc:440ppm
ALk: 10dkh
Salinity: 1.026
Magnesium 1400
Nitrates: 0ppm/undetectable
Phosphate: 0

My water remains cloudy for a day or two after a 10% water change, this has been consistent every time. Wondering if it has to do with dosing frequency, or if 10% on a 50 gallon is too much.

Hello!

How does your tank seem to be doing? If everything is looking ok then don’t change a thing. My own personal tank gets a little cloudy for about a day after a water change.

How much Pro Bio s and NP Pro are you dosing?

Are you just concerned about the cloudiness?

The dosing frequency is daily for the Pro Bio s and NP Pro . We recommend to a 10% water change weekly.

My tank is doing well. The corals appear to be growing considerably faster than when I used AquaForest Reef Salt. My only concern was the water being cloudy after doing 10% water changes on my 50 gallon cube, the water does clear up after about a day or two. Not sure if it was due to me dosing Pro Bio S, and -NP Pro daily.

I am dosing 2 drops of each into my system. I know it is recommended to dose 1 drop per 27 US gallons, so that means I am dosing 2 drops treating 54 US gallons per each; Pro Bio S and -NP Pro. I dosed this based on my additional 10 gallon water volume in my sump, to the 50 gallon display volume in my tank.

However, considering the 45lbs of rock work, and sandbed (shallow sandbed 1 and 1/2"), I may be dosing too much. Is this correct? Should I only dose 1 drop of Pro Bio S and -NP Pro daily?
