You'll be fine with your current restrictor. FWIW you can replace the restrictor with a ball valve and dial it in with your TDS meter.

It's a small valve looking thing on the rejection line. After you put the new membrane in as long as your reading zero TDS you don't have to worry about it.
It'll look like this: http://www.purewaterclub.com/catalog...roducts_id=254 |

On that coralife unit, the flow restrictor is built into the little plastic L fitting that comes out for the waste line. I'm not sure you can put a new flow restrictor on that unit.

That's the flow restrictor down inside there. I'm not sure what the box is. Mine didn't have that.

I think the box is the auto shut off valve, that kills water flow to the membrane when the product water line is shut off, like when using a float switch. That way it doesn't continuously run waste water down the drain.
I removed the original restrictor and got an inline one to match the membrane size from bulkreef when I replaced my membrane.

Coolfish is right. The box is an auto shut off valve.

Just buy a $4 flow restrictor matched to your new 75 gpd membrane. Will take you all of 15 seconds to install. Russ Last edited by Buckeye Hydro; 07/03/2011 at 01:11 PM. |
