Doostur & evey208's 45g Breeder Reef Tank

Hi Everyone.

We finished building our home and we had a small area in the living room which was perfect for a 45 breeder (needed the smaller depth). Custom stand made. We drilled the tank, stained the stand, and plumbed everything up. All tank components were cleaned with vinigar/ro. All rock was cleaned with bleach and then vinegar. Sand rinsed with RO. Finished cycling using Red Sea Reef Mature Pro Kit and we have added a cleaner crew 10 hermits, 6 Astrea Snails and a cleaner shrimp. Followed by a blood/coral banded shrimp and Hammer & Torch coral. Our first fish added was a Blue Reef Chromis. After a bonded pair of Extreme Onyx Picassos and Zoas. We have a midas blenny, and red fin fairy wrasse in our 10G QT tank waiting to be added in a few weeks. We treat QT with copper.

I'll be very specific with everything we have, hoping it'll help someone else. Our setup is as follows:

Update:

Picked up some Hanna testers for Alk & Phosphate. Much more accurate. Phosphates were 1.8. After running the BRS mini reactor for 12 hours, our Phosphates were down to .03. This should keep our SPS much more happy.

- Added bubble tip anemone.
- Added Ricordia
- Added Blasto
- Added Few Montis
- Added BRS mini reactor running GFO & Carbon.

05-21-17 Update

We added a CyberPower UPS. 1500VA/900W (BRG1500AVRLCD). On sale for $120 shipped from BH Photo. Each of our power heads pulls 5 watts. So both are 10 watt total. After doing some testing, and removing power, we had 420 minutes of back up running both heads (7 hours). In case we lose power as we fall asleep at night or after we leave the house, this should be enough until we return. Then we will use our generator in the garage.

Spread all our frags throughout tank.

Added...

- Added Utter Chaos Zoa
- Few more Purple People Eater Zoas
- King Midas Zoas

- Duncans
- Dendrophyllia
- Green Star Polyp

SPS

- World Wide Coral DingDang Milli
- Battlecorals Wild Red Acro
- ORA Pearlberry
- Aqua SD Fallen Lord
- Reef Raft Asia Wolverine
- Another Blue tip Stag
- World Wide Coral Heartbreaker
- World Wide Coral Pink Flamingo
