Dennis, I just want to throw a kudos your way because of your build progress that I have followed. You have done a lot of great work in this build and it sure is nice to see the results come into fruition. Awesome job and thanks for sharing the whole process. ☺

Hey thanks rock, I know I have always enjoyed detailed builds more than most...lot of learning has been done from those builds for myself over the last 15 years.

Well, added a couple wrasse and aquaculture colonies of sps today. Under regular lighting and semi browned out from shipping...but u get the picture (literally lol).

I think this Milli has some great potential.

Two different acros in one. Probably have to split it later but cool regardless...

Blue stag...Yellow coralites.

Noclue acro...

I'm a big fan of aquaculture colonies anywho.

2 pieces of wrasse are better than one.

Now the fun begins. Filling it up. I like that mille and you are right, it has potential.

I got hooked on wrasses with my 220. I have 7 now in my 400 and plan on some more. They add so much colour and movement in the tank. Always cruising, except for my red velvet. He is my puppy: always coming as close to me as possible and hanging at that position in hopes of getting food. lol

I've always loved wrasses, gotta put a net over it before I stock more though lol.

Yes, the net is essential. I watched my yellow coris do a beautiful arc from the tank to the floor. I got the netting in place the next day. He is still with me and has tried jumping on more than one occasion since then.

Nice work. Do you know if the fishroom is waterproof? Just tile and cement board usually is not. Needs a rubber seal.

It's not, but I put about 8 coats of sealer on the grout lol...holds water quite well, at least long enough to clean it up

Yeah, clean up crew has helped a lot, 50 percent of the rock was mature so that helped a lot, just the last week or two that the algae has popped up, but i started feeding heavier as well and probably part of the issue lol.

Frag system build underway finally...had to redo the stand...brain fart caused me to forget that the bottom tub needed to be higher off the ground or it wasn't going to be able to drain into the sump lol.

What is vibrant? Did you make any other changes?

Vibrant is a bacterial dosing product. I also added GFO about a month ago, and stopped doing water changes as it was just making the dinos happier.

The tank was very slowly improving with GFO alone but after adding the vibrant the dinoflagelates have decreased at an exponential rate.

Here's some pics since my updates suck lately.

Picked up this Bleeding Suns favia from Steve Tyree at the frag swap in Louisville a few weeks back.

Random neat chalice I bought at the same swap.

And some random coral shots.

Great build. I will be doing the same in the next 30 days. I ordered the tank last week 250dd just like yours. I also bought 4 mp40's a Vectra m1 and a simplicity 540dc skimmer and 200 lbs of Marco rocks dry rock and two 65 gallon norwesco jugs for my water station along with a new BRS 150 Gpd five stage unit on Black Friday I close on my new house 1-13-17 and the basement build out and fish room will begin.

Two questions for you
How big is the fish room
How many lbs of sand did you use
Do the two radions give you good light? I'm considering doing 2 G4 pro or 4 xr15 gen 4 or two hydra 52 hd and two hydra 26 hd maybe adding a two bulb t5 with the xr30 pro radions. I'm not a big sps guy and I don't wanna spend over 2,000 in lights fortunately my friend owns a maintenance company so I get the lights at a little better deal.

Tank looks awesome

Very nice build. I just do not have the floor space to have a fish room of any kind so I am still in a way cave man reefing.
