Ah okay thank you very much! would you know if the tank size is ok for the regal though? And would it have any other issues with other inhabitants? I'm also planning to upgrade to a 6x2x2ft aquarium in about 3 years, so I assume this would be okay for the regal and the other inhabitants?

Tank will be a 180g fowlr w/ 75g sump setup for a fuge, return, skimmer. Skimmer will be rated up to 300-400 gallons given the heavy bioload. There will be no corals and only a small CUC to eat any left over food/algae. CUC will be mostly hermits and some snails.
I plan on doing a 2-3" sandbed throughout and having an EHEIM 1262 as return w/ 2 Koralia PH (3000 gph) each on the opposite side wall. The tank is 72 x 24 x 24 w/ a single overflow on the left most wall. This is my stocking list idea, open to recommendations/suggestions. I plan on doing the rockwork centered in the display to provide ample swimming from in the rear and front of the tank. 1. Sustainable Aquatics Black Ice Clown Pair (already have 2.5") 2. Flame Angel (already have 2") 3. Hippo Tang (already have 1.5") 4. Kole Yellow Eye Tang (already have 3") 5. Pink Spot Goby (already have 3") 6. Single Blue Chromis (had 3, down to 1 that is 2") 7. Black Cap Basslet (already have 3", might get rid of it) 8. 3? or 5? Lyretail Anthias, (prefer 5, but will do 3) 9. Midas Blenny or Tailspot Blenny (have tailspot, but he is MIA) 10. 2 x Pakistan Butterflyfish 11. Green Mandarin 12. Magnificent Foxface (not necessary, but would make a nice addition) 13. Emperor Angelfish - Juvenile (want to watch it change) 14. Queen Angelfish 15. Majestic Angelfish (not necessary, but do like) 16. White Cheek/Powder Blue Tang (very last fish) 17. Orange-Back Fairy Wrasse 18. Exquisite Fairy Wrasse 19. Carpenter's Flasher Wrasse 20. Scott's Fairy Wrasse 21. McCosker's Flasher Wrasse 22. Moorish Idol (probably not since they're difficult to keep fed) 24. Cleaner Shrimp (have) 25. Blood Shrimp (have) 26. Yellow tang (maybe?) Thanks for looking, this is my first FOWLR tank so I am excited. |

Hello! Im pretty new here but will give it a shot of answering on what you have given
Yellow tang (maybe?) Right first off, the emperor and the queen angels may have a few aggression issues with each other, I have read stories of them literately fighting to the death so might want to just get one. Think the majestic would get on with one of these two, maybe more so the emperor, as have heard the queen is most aggressive out of the two. Maybe the emperor and the majestic would work? but would ask one of the experts on that. Also, I would pass on the Moorish idol, but if you do get one, would make sure its eating ect. and the other tank mates aren't aggressive. The tangs you have listed seem ok, but I wouldn't put 4 in a 180, maybe not even 3 of them, as I have heard they can be really aggressive with each other in closed environments like this, maybe only 300+ galls would work. The yellow tang is a stunner, have one in my tang now, so would definitely recommend it though. Also the mandarin needs to be introduced 6 months atleast after set up, but you probably know that Think the rest of the other fish should be fine, but not sure if they would munch on the shrimp. Anyway good luck with whatever you choose! I should be getting a 6x2x2ft tank soon, pretty excited about that too so I know how you feel! |

Thank you for the reply, if I take out the majestic will I have any issue doing the emperor and queen? and any issues w/ doing the power blue or white cheek?
I definitely appreciate the help as I want lots of movement and coloration, but also peaceful w/out much fighting if at all. Should have mentioned as far as QT procedure I have a 20g L setup w/ a hob filter rated for 30 gallons w/ a koralia 450 gph powerhead in it also. I typically observe the fish for 2 weeks and then if needed do treatment w/ cuprimine. So far all of my fish have been treated this way and no issues with the ones I already have. With the new tank I plan on getting 1/2 fish from the list a month and quarantining them. Realistically I will wait for my tank to finish cycling, move over all my existing livestock and let them be for a bit to ensure the system is 100% before splurging on additional fish. I have a 125 gallon tank with a 55 gallon sump and I was thinking of plumbing a 40 gallon tank into the system so I could add a few fish that are not coral friendly. My current tank has the following live stock:
This tank does have a lid on it and a canopy, would a ten inch canopy be enough to not need a lid? I would keep the overflows covered so the fish could not jump in them if I removed the lid. Yellow Tang (Zebrasoma flavescens) Powder Brown Tang (Acanthurus japonicus) Occelaris Clownfish (Amphiprion ocellaris) Diamond Goby (Valenciennea puellaris) Blue/Green Chromis (Chromis viridis) Purple Firefish (Nemateleotris decora) Would like to add these to the 125 Black Cap Basslet (Gramma melacara) Mccoskers Flasher Wrasse (Paracheilinus mccoskeri) Red Mandarin (Synchiropus cf. splendidus) Is there room for more fish here? Would like to put these in the 40 gallon Lemonpeel Angel (Centropyge flavissima) Flame Angel (Centropyge loriculus) Royal Gramma (Gramma loreto) Orange Stripe Prawn Goby (Amblyeleotris randalli) Clown Goby, Yellow (Gobiodon okinawae) Should I add both angel fish last and at the same time? Is there room for more fish in this tank? Thanks again for your help |

Stocking order
Hey there!
I've just taken the plunge to saltwater! I have 55 gallon tank with a 30 gallon sump, FOWLR, bare bottom, not yet cycled. After the cycling is complete I plan on adding the following fish (which after hours and hours of reading the threads I've finally made my decision) 1) Pair of Clownfish (percs) 2) 1 Tank raised Banggai Cardinal 3) 1 Firefish 4) 1 Court Jester Goby I was wondering what order to put these fish in the tank. I know the most territorial goes in last.. They will be quarantined first for about 3-4 weeks. Also if you guy have better stocking suggestions, I'm happy to hear them. |
