You have such an amazing aquarium! Looking at images from your tank makes me both depressed and motivated at the same time. I hope to one day be able to set up a tank that is half a nice as yours.

Very nice - makes me miss my larger tanks from long ago...great peninsula layout!

Also, just curious - what is the background noise in the video? Fans?

a fan

turn the sound off! (I know that means everyone will crank it up- human nature.)
The fan sounds like a vacuum cleaner in that vid. Normally it's fairly silent but it's the loudest thing about my aquarium.
There was nobody home when I shot that video and the house (including aquarium) is virtually silent so the mic on my camera must have been amplifying whatever sounds it could sense.

I didn't do any editing.

I can live with a little sound (overflow drains, fans, etc.), and I thought it might be a fan or 2 picked up by the mic. My Current Sundial fans can be heard, but they really do not bother me. I used to hate skimmer noise (don't have any now as the Tunze's are really quiet) and still do not like really loud overflows...

I like it Gary! Video gives such great perspective. I feel like I know your tank inside out from all the pics on this thread, but that video fills in a lot of gaps. Thanks for posting!

I sure hope that Junior is done growing!

Junior isn't a big swimmer (like a Naso Tang). He can eat a significant quantity of food. A big fish like that tends to make a 220 appear small but I knew what I was getting into when I got him.

I figured that a video would show a perspective that pictures cannot. Vid is the next best thing to seeing it in person.

eat Aiptasia?

I suppose so. It's difficult to find apes in my aquarium nowadays but once you have 'em....

I've only actually witnessed this CBB eat pods. It also takes prepared foods.
CBB's are one of my most favorite of fishes

As it's my nature to not have any original ideas of my own, I was looking at your flow set up in the video again, as it pertains to a gyre.

Looks like your Tunze and Vortech are pretty high up near the surface with the penductors facing straight back at the pumps. Is something on an intermittent pulse? Either the pumps or the penductors? Just trying to figure out the water's overall movement.

Thanks Gary.

*when watching the beginning of the video*

overall gyre is counterclockwise (flow at the surface is heading towards overflows on upper left and along the bottom flow is going towards the open sandy area on bottom right).
I started filming the video with my MP40 at max- so outs from the penductors and flow from MP40 are colliding right around the break between the two rock stacks.
I took the video with my old point and shoot camera so it's not of the greatest quality. Someday I'll get a pro in here to do it right.

Gary,
I watched the video...twice.

I saw no waffles in it anywhere.

Fail.
