Saw this poop emoji looking thing in my tank. Not sure what it is.

yep.. basically harmless but can reach plague proportions and some claim that their filter net can be an irritant to some corals.

My experience is that they are common in newer tanks and start to get out of control then their population seems to fade and they can easily just be ignored..
