Connect DC-5000 pump to 1'' PVC

I have the following connector on my DC-5000 pump:

How do I connect this to a 1'' PVC. I also want to make sure that it is as secure as possible.

1.25" Thread x Thread PVC coupling or union with a 1.25" to 1" thread x thread PVC reducer. HD or lowes

I used the white sch 40

If you are using it externally make SURE you have the red o-ring installed..

Thanks, I just got back from Lowes (here in Canada) and there are no PVC 1.25'' couplings or adapters.. supply is extremely limited. HD does not have it either. I may have to go to a specialized store.
