Why do fathead dendros lose tentacle color?

When I add fathead dendros to my tank they initially have bright yellow tentacles, but in a week or so they fade to a much paler yellow. Then inner orange part seems less affected. This has happened two separate times.

Any ideas why this is? They are fed regularly, and multiply quickly. They are in fairly bright light, fwiw.

I was recently in a coldwater FB group, and someone was describing a similar phenomenon in an NPS red anemone.

I always suspected that the foods you use is a significant factor in the colour for the large polyp NPS corals (sun corals, fistulas, rhizo's). Try a different meaty food and see if that makes a difference.
