gluing my rocks together help

I am about to buy some dry rock! now that i have had my tank all up and going for a week or so! and I not for sure how im going to build my rock like sculpture! my tank has two openings on top of it about 12" by 24" and not sure how im going to glue everything bc if i glue it outside the tank i wont be able to fit it in the top! can someone please work with me and help me out thanks!

use epoxy. you dont need aquarium epoxy. just WaterWeld or anything of that kind works perfectly.

You can also use plastic rods and drill holes in some of the rocks for the rods to fit into to hold it together. If you think getting your rock creations into the tank will be an issue because of there weight, tank braces, or whatever, you can make it in modules that fit together with the rods.

+1 on the rods. Arrange the rock how you like it outside of the tank and pre-drill the rock. Then dowel it together inside the tank.

Marco Rocks has a nice write up and pictures about aqua scaping. I used his idea of the acrylic plate and threaded rod and was really happy with the end result. It's much easier to drill through dry rock than you think. Using an extended drill bit the rocks I purchased from BRS cut like butter. The only rocks I found hard to work with were shelf rocks.
