TO Dip or Not to Dip?
I'm confused about dipping frags in an iodine dip.
I know one reason is to kill off pests and hitchikers, but if I am only fragging corals from my tank why bother if my tank is clean? On the other hand, is it because the act of cutting the coral creates wounds which need to be dressed just like you might clean a cut on your hand? Thanks |

Depends on the coral I'd say. Iodine dips tend to be hard on spa. However, zoanthids seem to benefit from it. Ive never dipped sps after fragging from my own tank.

You dont dip them after fragging. Just superglue them to a plug or new rock. The glue will cover the fresh wound and it will encrust over that eventually.

I would not dip after fragging, only if you see infection. For your Average dipping as a QT I would go with a dip more designated toward it.
