Loud buzzing noise from Eheim 1262

I've had a Eheim 1262 as a return for my 125 for almost a year. The pump was quite in the beginning but it seems to have gotten louder. Now the buzz is pretty noticable.

Does anyone know what might be wrong with it? Emailed Eheim but they just said might be the shaft or the impeller. Thats not a whole lot of help. The ceramic shaft is relatively cheap to replace, but the impeller is expensive.

Can anyone offer any more solid advice? I tried putting it on a silicon sheet but the sound is still noticable.

Jim

1 year is not enough time to give it a bust. Nine times out of ten, when I hear a humm its the pump shaking on the glass, rocks, etc. This being said I would buy a shaft if under $15. Followed by the impeller. Just my .02
