KK so, what should my next purchase be?
got the stuff listed in my sig, what should i be working towards next, I want a UV sterilizer despite the ...very strong feels ppl have for them, for or against, and im on the fence about a controller, it wouldnt work with my lights anyway, and i know i need an ATO eventually.
There is sooooo much expensive stuff, and i know ive got what i NEED to run a healthy system, just wondering what i should really consider my next big purchase for my tank.

ATO, Controller, lights that work with controller, UV. In that order.

well, i can see the controller, im in no hurry to replace the lights, i dont particularly need the dimming functionality, just the on off functionality is fine, but the ATO may be next...i need to top off about every 5 days max, and sig just says my tank sizes, skimmer model and powerhead model and light models anyway lol

If it were me, with your current equipment; ATO to keep salinity consistent, RO/DI system (if none), programmable dimmable lights to replicate a natural sunlight schedule (and not freak out your fish), controller, GFO/GAC reactors. Do you have a good QT setup?

GFO reactor.
Edit: Wonder what all those people with Metal Halides did without a dawn and dusk effect... Oh yeah they kept gorgeous healthy tanks. |

I can only dim manually, so really it's just on/off. I don't see how that would be a major problem. Folks have been running their tanks just fine without dimming for YEARS. |

People used horses and buggies for years, too! Some still do!
Okay, I know that was snarky because MH are not horses and buggies but I swear, MH vs LED is like religion. :P Just because we couldn't do something before doesn't mean it's better not to now that we can. I have fish and inverts that really appreciate the dawn/dusk period, especially the mandarin since those are prime feeding times for him. And I like being able to see & feed the tank in the morning before work. I remember from when I ran freshwater years ago how the fish would freak out when the lights came on - without eyelids, how much must it suck to go from dark to bright instantly? That can't be fun. So dimming is not without merit.

I would absolutely prioritize an ATO---otherwise you get salinity swings during the day. This doses freshwater by the teaspoon, not the half gallon, and enables you to leave your tank for a vacation without your pump burning out.
