I bought the hardware for building a new stand for my fish room. The stand will hold my quarantine tanks.

Trying to figure out which of my devices is leaking voltage into my tank, when i stick my finger in that has a cut on it i get a really big shock every time. Turns out all my heaters, skimmer pump, return pump, and carbon pump are all leaking

They all plugged in to the same power strip? If so I would switch that and see if it fixes it. Seems odd that all of them would leak at the same time. Check your lights too.

Went to the tide pools with no bucket and no intention of collecting. Ended up running to the shop for a bucket. Brought it home with some amazing colonial featger dusters, some golf ball sized snails, two frags of purple star polyps, and some interesting zoanthids.

Finally water tested my current build. Only found a couple pseudo problem areas. Bean Animal overflow is definitely the way to go. Also finished the contraption to suspend the light above the tank.

Hopefully tomorrow I can assemble the goods needed to create a "faux" sandbed.

Not doubting you, but how would the lights leak voltage into a tank?

If they sit on top of your tank they can. Water level in the tank high enough and metal light fixture low enough. The cord was dipping into the very top of the tank water. Took me the better part of an hour one day to realize what was leaking electricity into my tank. I tested everything and of course left the lights on so that I could see in the tank as I was working in it. I didn't figure it out until I went to move the fixture back a bit with wet hands and zapped myself.

If they are suspended above the tank or set up higher I dont see how they can. The only reason I suggested it is if the op is still getting the shock no matter what is plugged in I would say its either the power strip, which I am not sure how it wuld transfer electricity up insulated cords, or the lights that he may not have thought to turn off while he was checking all of the other equipment.

Makes sense. I have a leak somewhere also and after unplugging everything I Still can't find it. I get a small zap in my cut just like the op.

I tore apart the 240 to move it from against the wall under the stairs to room divider.
Everything is in holding tanks, putting it back together today.

New stand and sump
