Hi Grim and all. I am setting up a new system with 36" t5X8. Tank is 24" deep. Mostly SPS. What bulb combo would yield me the best outcome? I like ATI. I have 4 blue plus, one purple plus. What others or what combination would you all recommend? And placement front to back?

Thanks for your input everyone...

Not really the right thread for this but I'll do this one

Blue Plus
Purple Plus
Blue Plus
Blue Plus
GE 6500K
Blue Plus
Purple Plus
Blue Plus

or there abouts. Any other questions should be asked in the T5 q&a thread in this forum

Any par levels on fiji purple bulbs ?

All I've read is that they bring out colors. I'm looking for something that will encourage more growth.

Im in the process of my build and with me having to raise my Lb reflector 18" above water. Will this make the t5 insufficient at that height? Also they will be mounted in a floating canopy.

this is my lighting combo as of right now.

Tank is 36"x36"x24"T

So where are these PAR Ratings taken?

Top of the Aquarium?
Middle?
Sand Bed?

Does anybody have the PAR Rating for ATI's newest Bulbs the "Purple Plus" and the "Coral Plus"?

I am very curious about those Bulbs.

Just thought I'd add my PAR findings. Not sure if this bulb combo is already in the thread somewhere.

6x39 Aquatic Life fixture. Using Apogee par meter, with plastic splash guard on fixture, all pumps and mp10's running.

Front:

Coral+
Blue+ (dawn/dusk)
Purple, Aquatic Life bulb
Blue+ (dawn/dusk)
Coral+
Blue+

Back:

Wow sps in the sandbed with an aquatic life! You don't say! Lol. I've been using aquatic-life for 3 years. They work just fine for me too. Thanks for posting.

Grimm question please. I am wanting to get the max performance out of my NEP 6x54w for my 55g. what are people using to polish the reflectors? I am running 4 ATI Blue Plus, 1 Coral Plus, and 1 Purple Plus. I do like the blue look. I completely redid my tank in March all new sand and all new rock. What can I do to increase PAR? I am getting about 660 above water, 350 below water on top of rock, about 170 midway and about 100-150 on sand bed. I want to have SPS

Grim doesn't have anything to do with t5 any more. He moved on long ago.

Just worn out with it all. Answering the same questions over and over and over and over and over and over.....I also got tired of the back and forth with a few individuals. Just isn't worth my time any longer.

I'm selling off the majority of my stuff right now and taking a break.

You decided to not move forward with your new build?

Judging by his for sale thread, it looks to be that way. Too bad.

Good luck, Ryan.

Hi Grim,

I know the thread is old but, but please help me.

Do you think is possible to illuminate a custom 48''x12''x12''(h) with 2x54w, good enough for most exigent corals?

I'm considering usin JBL reflectors (those like seagulls wings) maybe 5'' above the water.

What combination would you recommend?
(here giesemann os URI/UVL is easyer to buy)

Thank you guys.
