Progression of my first saltwater aquarium.
I have spent my entire week working on preparing this used stand and tank after work in order to get it ready for the weekend. After all the blood, sweat, and tears I poured into this project I am extremely proud with the end result. I cannot wait to start the cycling process and get the tank ready for corals and fish!

Pretty good aquas cape for a first attempt. I like how minimalist and how much self control you showed. I’d scoot the pile about 3-4” to the left but that’s a nit pick. Get ready for some algae. It’s coming.

Thanks! I was pretty excited how it came out. I left the one side fairly clear because I’d like to add another 10-15 pounds of rock in the near future. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Ahh that makes more sense. That would look good. Unsolicited advice: I’d just suggest not letting the additional rock pile get any bigger than 1/2 the current one. Symmetry takes away from the overall aesthetic. Enjoy. You’re gonna learn a ton more from actually going through it than researching alone

So it’d be taller than my arch and thus giving that asymmetrical appeal, forreal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I would remove the airstones. It would crate massive salt creep.
